Point of Sale POS Credit Card Terminals

Point of Sale Terminals are the preferred way of processing credit cards, debit cards, checks, smart chip cards, electronic benefits transfer (EBT), and other electronically submitted transactions in a traditional retail environment. The terminals are used in "face-to-face" transactions. The merchant will swipe the customers card through the terminal or key-in payment information and the terminal does the rest.

While there are many credit card terminals on the market, the ones below represent the most popular, are the easiest to use, offer updated technology, are non-proprietary (meaning they can be reprogrammed by any processor), and represent the overall best value for the money:

VeriFone Tranz 380 - Cheap and reliable, a basic swipe terminal for the budget conscious. No built-in printer, but you can use an Imprinter if you need receipts. Requires a standard telephone line to process. Price: $99

Nurit 2085 - Our most popular stand alone terminal! Has an easy to use ATM style screen, quiet, built in printer, and large lcd screen. Processes over a standard analog telephone line. Can also 'store' the transactions and process them later using Store-And-Forward technology. Price: $149

Hypercom T7Plus - Another reliable terminal with built in printer and a multitude of options. Uses a standard telephone line to process. Price: $199

VeriFone Vx570 Dual Comm IP - State of the art processing over an Internet IP connection, or an analog phone line. Easy to use ATM style interface. A clear winner! Replaces Verifone Omni 3750. Price: $379

Nurit 8400U - Stand alone terminal and built in printer that also has an internal battery so no power cord is needed. Uses a standard analog phone line to process. Can also 'store' the transactions and process them later using Store-And-Forward technology. Price: $359

Credit Card Imprinter - Sometimes called a "Knuckle Buster", an imprinter allows you to take an imprint of the customers credit card using a two part carbon receipt. This allows you to give a receipt to the customer if you do not have a terminal with a built in printer. Great for face to face sales. Price: $39 - includes 100 slips & custom imprinter plate
